The Poet for Hire Has Online Tear Sheets

Below are some examples of people showing an interest in my work.

Interviews

G. Emil Reutter interviewed me for February 2013.  I got a lot off my chest.  Click here to read it.

On December 12th, 2011.  A trio of podcasts by Stone Soup open miker Andrew Pezzelli were recorded for a podcast entitled Stone Soup Stanzas.

The first of three is an interview with me, which you're free to skip.

The second stars last week's feature, Gloria Monaghan.

The third focuses on last week's open mike (which was pretty damn lively).

In March of 2011, I starred on Ryan "Rat" Travis' show "The Witching Hour," which aired on public access in Salem that April.  Now you can see my reading and  interview as part of the full episode (I'm about 8 minutes in).

On June 1st, 2010, I was featured at Broad Street Books, a book store located in Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.  Following that, I went to  the college 's station WESU to be interviewed for  ArT on AiR by J Cherry.  I even got to read a few poems.  The show is now archived and available to listen to  here.  Or you can go here for other download options.  Thanks to J Cherry for the opportunity and Brian Mitchard for organizing the reading.

On March 31, 2009 , I was filmed for the first episode of The Steve Katsos Show.  It was memorable for many, but not for my repartee or oratory skills.  Read this recent Arlington Advocate article for info on my friend's successful public access show and the sneeze heard around the world (of public access).  The story has spread as far as, well, the alma mater of both myself and Steve, Framingham State College.  Read the story in The Gatepost.  Then you can view the money shot here.  Recently, though, Steve posted a non-sneezing segment of my appearance.  You can watch that here.

Performance poet and Emerson College student Adam Goldberg interviewed me late last year for a school project that involved creating a website decicated to Boston's spoken word scene.   The email-based interview he posted has since been taken down, but because I was and am neurotic, I posted a corrected, better written version, and you can still read it here.

Poet, musician and memoirist Lo Galluccio interviewed me in The Alewife, which also printed my poetry, including my "Sarcastic Haiku."  The editor called my work "loathsome" and even called me "terror laureate" on his supposedly professional blog.  Thanks to this website, we can finally skip the middle man.

Doug Holder of Ibbetson Street Press interviewed me for his "Poet to Poet/Writer to Writer" series.  Years later, I had the video put on to YouTube.  Watch it here, and marvel at me trying to sound intelligent in my first televised interview ever.

I've also been mentioned as part of recent reviews of local anthologies.

I'm only mentioned briefly in this review of Popt Art's first issue, but I want to help promote this.

Performance Reviews

The few and far between moments when someone writes about one of my features.  Hey, I have an update!

This nice article/review comes from the Greater Brockton Society for Poetry and the Arts regarding my reading on February 18th, 2012.

I think Doug Holder wrote this review of my 2005 reading with Janet Cormier at the old Toast Series in Somerville.  A couple of inaccuracies, but I was flattered.

Stone Soup Testimonials

Some reviews of Stone Soup have appeared here and there.  I just might create a separate page for them down the road, but for now, I'll put them here.

Bert Stern on his November 15th feature.

January Gill O'Neil on her August 9th feature.

Dan Wilcox reports on his visit last summer, accompanying  feature LisaAnn LoBasso.
